PLANK & PENCIL
Terms of sale.
Effective 29 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and the seller of Plank & Pencil ("we", "us"). They apply to every purchase on the site and to your use of the site. You agree to them when you buy.
The seller is the company named on the payment page before you pay. Write to support@plankandpencil.com to get its name and address by email.
1. The product
Woodworking plans: for each plan, a printable manual, a shopping list, a cut list with cutting diagrams and a 3D view of the piece and its steps, in the size the buyer chooses within the plan's range. It is a digital product, delivered online. Nothing is shipped.
You can buy something on its own, with a single payment, or become a member. A membership is a subscription: it gives access to what the site describes as included in it, for as long as the membership lasts.
2. Price and payment
The price of a single purchase is the one shown on the page of the plan you buy. It is one payment, with no later charge. A membership is charged when you join and then at the start of each new period, in advance, until you cancel it. Its price and how often it is charged are shown before you join, and you agree to them before the first charge. If a tax applies to your purchase, it is shown before you pay. Your bank or card issuer may charge fees of its own, for example for a payment in another currency. Payment is taken by our payment provider under its own terms. The contract between you and us is made when your payment is confirmed.
After you join, we send you an email with the membership's terms: its price, how often it is charged, that it continues until you cancel it, and how to cancel. If we change the price of a membership, we tell you by email at least seven days before the first charge at the new price. The email gives the new price, the date of that charge and how to cancel. Charges before that date keep the old price. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before that charge.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to buy. A parent or guardian may buy for a younger person and is then responsible for that person's use.
3. Delivery and access
You get access online as soon as your payment is confirmed. You need a current web browser and an internet connection. Keep the email address you bought with: it is how we find your purchase and restore your access.
Access to something you bought on its own has no end date. It lasts for as long as we offer the product; a single payment is not a promise that we offer it for ever. A membership gives access to what it includes from the moment your first payment is confirmed until the membership ends. We may add to what a membership includes. If we take something out of it, or decide to end a product or the membership itself, we tell buyers and members by email, with reasonable notice, at the address of the purchase. If we end the membership itself, we take no charge after that email, and your membership lasts until the end of the period already paid.
We may update, change and improve the product. We work to keep the site available, but we do not promise that it is available at every moment.
4. Your license
When you buy, you get a license to use the product. You do not become its owner. The license is personal: it is for you, for private and non-commercial use, in the way the product is meant to be used. It lasts while you have access and keep to these terms. The product, the site and everything in them belong to us or to our licensors.
Unless these terms allow it, you may not share your access or pass it on, resell or publish the product or parts of it, copy it in bulk or collect it by automated means, use it to build or train another product or service, or interfere with the site or its security.
5. Support
We give support by email at support@plankandpencil.com. Write from the email address you bought with. Never send card numbers or passwords.
6. Canceling and refunds
For a single purchase, you can cancel the order at any time before you pay. Once your payment is confirmed, that product is delivered in full at once, so a single purchase cannot be canceled for a change of mind after that.
You can cancel a membership at any time, online: every email about your membership has a link to cancel it. You can also write to support@plankandpencil.com from the address of your membership. Canceling stops all later charges. The membership then lasts until the end of the period already paid, and ends then. A period that has started is not refunded, in whole or in part.
Refunds go back to the payment method you paid with. If a charge looks wrong, write to us before you dispute it with your bank; we can usually settle it faster. Nothing in this section takes away a refund or another remedy that consumer protection law gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement, for example when a product is not as described.
7. Ending access
You can stop using the product at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing or reselling the product, or if your payment is refunded or charged back. The parts of these terms that are meant to continue, such as section 8, apply after your access ends.
If a charge for a membership fails, we tell you by email. If it still cannot be taken, the membership ends.
8. What we promise and what we do not
You get the product as it is described on the site when you buy. We do not promise a particular result from using it. How you use it, and what you do with what you learn from it, is your own responsibility.
EXCEPT FOR WHAT THESE TERMS EXPRESSLY PROMISE, THE SITE AND THE PRODUCT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". WE DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST EARNINGS OR LOST DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ABOUT A PURCHASE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR IT.
We are not responsible for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in this section applies to liability for fraud, for gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Nothing in it takes away a warranty, right or remedy that consumer protection law gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement.
9. Complaints, law and courts
If something is wrong, write to us at support@plankandpencil.com first. Most problems can be settled quickly that way.
10. Other terms
We record website events and how the product is used for internal analytics. Our privacy notice describes how we handle personal information. It is not part of this contract.
We may change these terms. The new version is posted here with a new date. For a single purchase, the version in force on the day you bought applies. For a membership, a new version applies from the first charge after we have sent it to you by email, with how to cancel; until then, the version you last agreed to or were sent applies.
These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about your purchase. If a court finds a part of them invalid, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a term once, we have not given it up. Unless these terms allow it, you may not transfer your rights under them; we may transfer ours to a successor that takes over the product.
We write to you at the email address of your purchase. If you have difficulty using the site, including with assistive technology, or believe that something on it infringes your rights, write to us at support@plankandpencil.com.
